Account Questions:

When registering my account, what information will be displayed to the public?
The form fields with a red asterisk are mandatory. However, the fields First Name, Last Name, Contact Number and Alternate Number are completely optional. If you choose to fill out these fields, the information you have provided will be listed in your property ads. Although email is a mandatory field, you have the option of whether or not to display it to the public. If you DO NOT want to display your email in your ad, please check the field "Display Your E-mail:".

I can't find my account activation email, where is it?
Some email programs may consider this message SPAM. Always double check your Junk Mail box, if it isn't there please contact sifsbo@siforsalebyowner.com for help.

How does my membership work?
There are two different membership options. One is the Basic membership which includes our basic services and our Deluxe membership which includes our deluxe services. There is no cost to have a membership to our website, however, whenever you choose to advertise a property on our website each property will be the cost of the membership you chose during registration and will include all of the services available for that membership for each individual property advertisement.

I registered with the deluxe membership, can I change my membership back to basic?
Yes. All you need to do is contact sifsbo@siforsalebyowner.com and they will make the change for you.

I've forgotten my account password, how can I retrieve it?
On the login page, under the login information, there will be a link "Forgot your password?". On this page you will need to enter your Login name and a system-generated password will be emailed to the address with which you signed up. Please remember to change this system-generated password once you have logged in successfully. For additional help, please contact sifsbo@siforsalebyowner.com.

How can I change the information in my member profile?
Once you have logged into your account, on the left hand side of the website you should see a section called "User Menu". Under the user menu, look for a link called "My Profile". Once you have entered your new information click "Change" and your new information will be updated shortly.

Advertising your Property Questions:

Why can't I add photos or videos to my property?
The option to add photos and videos is not available until you have completed the listing information and clicked "Save" at the bottom of the screen. Once your listing information has been saved, you will be redirected to the same listing page except now you should have the option to add photos and videos to your advertisement.

When I click the "Add Photos" button, nothing happens, why?
The photo up-loader is opened in a new pop-up window. Be sure that you have your internet settings to either allow pop-ups or allow pop-ups for siforsalebyowner.com. If the problem persists, please contact us for additional help.

Why isn't my photo uploading?
First, check to make sure that your file is in either a .jpg, .png, or .gif format. If the file format is correct, your picture may be too large for our system to upload. To re-size your picture visit http://www.picresize.com/. For a complete tutorial on how to re-size your photos on picresize.com, please click here. Remember: Keep your photos at least 425 px (pixels) in width and make sure not to change the height (the height of the photo will change with the width proportionally).

How do I include captions with my photos?
After you have browsed for your photo and hit upload, you should see a small thumbnail of your photograph to the left of the box and an empty box next to it with the options to move it up or down, save or delete it. The empty box above these options is where you want to enter your photo caption. Remember: Once you have entered your caption, click the save button below it.

What is an MLS#?
Multiple Listing Service (MLS) (also Multiple Listing System or Multiple Listings Service) is a database which allows real estate brokers representing sellers under a listing contract to widely share information about properties with real estate brokers who may represent potential buyers or wish to cooperate with a seller's broker in finding a buyer for the property. The MLS combines the listings of all available properties that are represented by brokers who are both members of that MLS system and of NAR or CREA, (the National Association of Realtors in the US or the Canadian Real Estate Association).

What should I include in my description?
We have provided our Buyers, Sellers and Renters tips on buying, selling and renting properties. This section can be found on the left hand side of the website under "SIFSBO Tips". I forgot to check "Feature my Property", can I change this?
Once you have saved your ad, you will not be able to change whether or not the ad is featured. If you have a basic or renters membership, you will need delete the re-do the listing. If you are a deluxe member, please contact customer service and we will change it for you.

Can I edit my property after I have activated it?
Of course! You can edit your property at anytime, day or night and the changes will be updated automatically in seconds. To update your property, login to your account. Under the user menu, select "My Properties". Once you've located the property you wish to edit, at the bottom of the gray box you should see the link "Edit Listing". Click this link, make any necessary changes and click "Save" at the bottom of the page.
